Enertek International GmbH – Open for Business….

Enertek International GmbH Open for Business

Enertek International GmbH was incorporated in Cologne on 8 April 2022 to service the European market with specialist R&D services in the field of low carbon heating and cooking products.

During the summer, the company has been conducting research and preparing to commence trading. Kellie Melbaum-Brenner (GmbH General Manager), together with Paul Needley (Group Managing Director) have been working behind the scenes to have everything in place so that an official launch could be announced.

The story so far...

The United Kingdom effectively isolated itself from mainland Europe with Brexit commencing in 2016. Almost immediately, the UK company recognised a need to move into Europe to continue to serve the single market.

Germany was selected as the optimum place for a European Operation due to the country’s reputation for high quality engineering and technological advancement.

Kellie Melbaum-Brenner has several years’ knowledge of Enertek International and was an obvious choice to lead the new German subsidiary. Early in April, Kellie visited the UK company to learn first hand how the sister company operates and to view the facilities and engineering team who are available to support the European company via an inter-group agreement.

An office has been leased in Cologne and is available for client meetings.  Although most meetings are expected to be at clients premises where the clients’s requirements can most easily be assessed.

On 1st June, Kellie and Paul visited the Hannover fair to view the latest technology available in Germany and learn about companies current approach to R&D, post Covid.

Later in June the Mostra Convegno took place in Milan. As the main showcase for the heating and cooling appliance industry this provided Kellie with a great insight into the industry and allowed Paul to introduce her to a number of existing UK clients. One surprising learning from Mostra was the number of American companies and their interest in forming links with the European market.

In October, we visited Chillventa in Nuernberg, the main European heat pump exhibition and later in the month the Hydrogen Technology (Europe) Expo in Bremen. The UK sister company has been very active in hydrogen appliance development (100% and blended hydrogen) so this technology is very important to the European GmbH as Europe pursues decarbonisation policies.
